Thirty (30) Day Limited Warranty Against Manufacturing Defects

Safavieh (“Safavieh,” “we,” “us”) warrants to the original retail purchaser that, for a period of thirty (30) days from the original date of purchase, this rug will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use and when maintained in accordance with our care instructions. This is a LIMITED warranty and is subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions, and limitations set forth below.

1. Who Is Covered

This warranty extends only to the original purchaser who bought the rug new from Safavieh or a Safavieh-authorized reseller, and only for rugs shipped to and used within the United States. It is non-transferable and does not apply to rugs sold “as-is,” or as floor samples, clearance, closeout, second-quality, or refurbished merchandise, or to rugs purchased from unauthorized sellers.

2. What Is Covered

Genuine defects in materials or workmanship that arise under normal residential use, for example: manufacturing faults in weaving or construction, seam or binding failure not caused by misuse, or separation or delamination of an applied backing under normal conditions.

3. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover, and Safavieh is not responsible for, any of the following:

  • Normal wear and inherent product characteristics, including shedding, fuzzing, sprouting, pilling, minor loose tufts, and slight variations in color, pattern, size, or texture, as well as the natural characteristics of natural fibers such as wool, jute, cotton, and hide;
  • Fading, discoloration, or damage caused by sunlight, heat, ozone, or environmental exposure;
  • Crushing, matting, flattening, or wear resulting from foot traffic, furniture, or use over time;
  • Damage from improper use or care, including incorrect cleaning, use of unsuitable cleaning products, failure to use an appropriate rug pad, or failure to follow our care instructions;
  • Stains, spills, soiling, odors, water or moisture damage, mold, or mildew;
  • Damage caused by pets, children, insects, accidents, abuse, negligence, or by alteration or repair performed by anyone other than Safavieh;
  • Use outside the product’s intended purpose, including outdoor use of an indoor rug, or any commercial, institutional, or high-traffic non-residential use;
  • Damage to floors, flooring finishes, or any surface beneath or in contact with the rug;
  • Any rug on which the label, tag, or identifying markings have been removed or altered;
  • Differences in appearance between the rug and any photograph, sample, or on-screen image.

4. How to Make a Claim

To make a valid claim, you must, within thirty (30) days of discovering the defect and before the warranty period expires, contact Safavieh at customersupport@safavieh.com and provide the following:

  1. Proof of purchase (order number or dated receipt showing the item and the authorized seller);
  2. Clear photographs of the full rug together with close-up photographs of the claimed defect;
  3. A description of the defect and the conditions under which the rug has been used.

Safavieh may require additional information or the return of the rug (with shipping instructions provided by us) for inspection before approving any claim. Do not return any rug without prior written authorization from Safavieh.

5. Limitation of Liability

If Safavieh determines, in its reasonable discretion, that a valid manufacturing defect exists, Safavieh will, at its sole option, repair the rug, replace it with the same or a comparable product (subject to availability), or refund the original purchase price. This is your sole and exclusive remedy. Where a replacement or refund is provided, the defective rug becomes the property of Safavieh upon its request. A repaired or replaced rug is warranted only for the remainder of the original warranty period. In no event will Safavieh’s total liability exceed the original purchase price paid for the rug.

6. Limitation of Implied Warranties

No other warranties, whether express, implied or statutory or otherwise, including, but not limited to implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, quality, non-infringement, compatibility, or of fitness for a particular purpose, and no advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from Safavieh or elsewhere will create any warranty or condition not expressly stated herein.

7. Exclusion of Consequential and Incidental Damages

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Safavieh shall not be liable for any incidental, consequential, special, or indirect damages of any kind, including damage to property, loss of use, or economic loss, arising out of or relating to the product or this warranty, whether based in contract, warranty, tort, or otherwise.

8. Your State-Law Rights

Some states do not allow limitations on warranties, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

9. General

This warranty is the entire and exclusive warranty for the rug and supersedes all other representations. No dealer, reseller, employee, or agent has authority to modify this warranty or to make any additional warranty on Safavieh’s behalf. This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and is exclusively enforceable in a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction located in Nassau County, New York.
